Effervescent tablet, capsule or drink shot: which form fits your everyday life?

Published 18.06.20262 min read

Most people choose a food supplement by the nutrient and only realise at home that the form doesn't fit their day. The pack of capsules sits in the cupboard because swallowing is difficult. The powder goes unused because nobody wants to stir anything in the morning. That's why it pays to choose the form just as consciously as the content.

First, a clarification we think is important: we don't say that one form works better than another. What matters is the composition and the recommended daily dose stated on every pack. What differs is how they fit into everyday life – and that's exactly what this is about.

Effervescent tablets

Drop a tablet into a glass, let it dissolve, done. This is the obvious choice if swallowing is difficult or if you want to remember to drink more anyway. The effervescent tablets in our range come in various flavours and without added sugar.

The downside: you need a glass and water. On the go that's inconvenient, and at the office or on the train it's not usually the first choice.

Capsules and tablets

The most compact option. No taste, no effort, a sip of water is enough. A tub fits in any bag, and the portion is unambiguous – one capsule is one capsule.

The downside: if you have trouble swallowing, you'll hit a real limit here. And if you take several products at once, the number of capsules adds up quickly.

Softgels

Softgels are a special form. They are mainly used where oily ingredients are processed – in our range, for example, for omega-3 and vitamin D3. The shell is softer than a classic capsule, but the format stays compact.

Powders and sachets

Our powders come in single portions, as sticks or sachets. The advantage lies in the amount: collagen, for instance, is dosed in grams, not milligrams, and that amount simply doesn't fit into a capsule. One stick a day is also easy to keep track of – you can see at a glance whether you've had it.

The downside: you need a glass, water and a moment to stir it in.

Drink shots

The simplest option of all: open the bottle, drink, done. Nothing to mix, nothing to measure, nothing to swallow. That makes drink shots the most uncomplicated form for on the go and for anyone who isn't keen on tablets.

The downside: more packaging per portion and a higher price per day than a tub of capsules.

The honest rule of thumb

Choose the form you're confident you'll still be using in four weeks. A product sitting in the cupboard is no use to anyone – no matter how well it's formulated.

You'll find all forms sorted in the menu under By form. If you're not sure where to start, the product guide takes you through the selection in three steps.

Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dose.
